Come explore the invisible worlds of ultrasonic and electromagnetic signals made audible through specialized technology.
As we move through and around the Yellowhouse gallery and surrounding neighbourhood hunting for weird noises, we will use equipment that makes audible some of the normally imperceptible sounds of frequencies that are ever present and quietly surround us.
After a brief introduction to frequencies and waveforms, the cohort will get a hands on chance to try this technology and share their discoveries along the way as we wander and listen.
This workshop series is being hosted on the unceded, asserted & shared traditional territories of Penelakut, Lamalcha, Hwlitsum and other Hul’qumi’num and SENĆOŦEN speaking peoples, Coast Salish Peoples of Galiano, as well as the ceded territories of Tsawwassen First Nation, on what is now known as Galiano Island.
Supported by CRD Arts & Culture, BC Arts Council and the Province of British Columbia.
